Power Volleyball Community Service Events

Power Volleyball Families,

We are very excited to announce our plans for our club wide service events over the next three months. We are so very fortunate to have the ability to play a sport we all love so dearly, what better way to show our gratitude than to serve our local communities!

Below are some initial details and dates for the service projects our club will contribute to.

  1. Oct 30th – School Supply Drive and Halloween Costume Contest

    2. We have adopted Finch elementary in downtown McKinney.
  1. Nov 16th – Coat Drive for The Samaritan Inn
    1. We will be collecting new or gently used coats, jackets, hoodies or fleece. These items are needed for children’s, men and women’s, and in all sizes. Donations of hats, mittens or gloves are all appreciated.
    2. The coat drive will end on Thursday November 17th at our team practices.  We will deliver the coats to Samaritans inn on the 21st.

  1. December 21st– North Texas Food Bank Food Drive
    1. Power Volleyball is pleased to announce our Community Service Event for the year. For our second event we will do a Canned Food Drive for North Texas Food Bank. The Food collected through our drive will stay in our community and work to help end hunger. Food we are collecting will provide much more than a meal for a hungry child, senior or family wondering where their next meal will come from, it means hope. What should you donate to a canned food drive?
  • Canned Fruit and Vegetables
  • Dried or Canned Beans
  • Canned Tuna or Chicken
  • Whole-Grain Rice or Pasta
  • Healthy Cereal
  • Peanut Butter

All canned goods will be collected at practice on December 21st. We will be running a contest between all the teams in the club to see which team has the best participation. The team with the largest participation will be rewarded.
